Some People Just Can’t Handle Their Cotton Candy: Boozy Cotton Candy Milkshake Recipe

Bojack Horseman with Cotton Candy

Note: I love watching TV. And I love making desserts. This is the first recipe in my series of television show-inspired desserts, Watch Party

I have very little self-control when it comes to certain things. I wouldn’t say I ever purposefully binge-watch something, but I will spend an entire week using any of my free time to watch a season of a TV show. I know, I am a very productive citizen of the world.

This week was occupied by the new season of BoJack Horseman on Netflix (and reading reviews of every episode for some reason?). I never considered myself a fan of animation, but this show somehow makes you forget that these are all cartoons. Definitely watch it. Especially if you think puns are hilarious.

There are many jokes on BoJack Horseman involving food and drinking. For example, BoJack is prone to eating entire machines’ worth of cotton candy at parties. Why else would you have a party other than to rent a cotton candy machine? He also likes to drink. A lot. So what better way to celebrate the return of BoJack Horseman than with a boozy cotton candy milkshake!

BOOZY COTTON CANDY MILKSHAKE

I won’t judge you if you add more cotton candy (or alcohol) than I recommend.

Yield: 1 reasonably sized shake

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 to 2 cups cotton candy, plus more for decoration
  • 2 tablespoons rum (or vodka)
  • Whipped cream
  1. Add ice cream, milk, cotton candy, and rum to your blender or drink mixer tin.
  2. Blend the ingredients until smooth
  3. Pour in glass and top with whipped cream and cotton candy.
